Thirty-two riders showed up for the time trial on
July 1, including six who had not ridden it before. Four time trialists
were women, two of whom were new to the TT. Welcome, Judy and Diane!
It was sunny, not too hot and not humid, but
windy-- a great day to test legs and lungs on the 10.6K (6.6 mile) loop starting
at Brownstown Vo-Tech.
Thanks to Neil Crone for launching and timing,
Tim Good for timing and helping with the paperwork, Matt Bomberger for timing,
Robin Smith for her help, Peg Saunders for her watch, and everyone who went out
on the course to watch a corner and cheer on the riders.
Congratulations to all the riders who set
personal records. Newcomer Ken Wareham shattered the course record with a
blazing 14:55.33, and is the only person other than Matt Dishart to break 15
minutes. Matt did it twice in 2009 with a 14:56.12 and a 14:58.87.
See everyone on the fifth of August! Please try
to sign up by 6 PM, or have a friend sign you up if you’re running late.
